REGISTER OF MERIT CANADA

 

1. REQUIREMENTS FOR DOGS

In order for a dog to achieve the award of Register of Merit Canada Sire he must:

(a) Have a point total of 100 or more.

(b) His points must be contributed by 10 or more of his progeny.

(c) Five or more of his progeny must have achieved the title of C.K.C. Champion.

(d) Three or more of his progeny shall have hips and elbows certified by a recognized agency.

(e) One of his progeny shall have an approved working title.

2. REQUIREMENTS FOR BITCHES

In order for a bitch to achieve the award of Register of Merit Canada Dam she must:

(a) Have a point total of 70 or more.

(b) Her points must be contributed by 5 or more of her progeny.

(c) Three or more of her progeny must have achieved the title of C.K.C. Champion.

(d) Two or more of her progeny must have hips and elbow certified by a recognized agency.

(e) One of her progeny shall have an approved working title.

3. SHOW POINTS

A dog or bitch contributes R.O.M.C. points to both his/her sire and dam by winning the 
following awards at C.K.C. Championship shows:

	3 pt show	4 pt show	5 pt show
BOB from specials	6	8	10
BOS from specials	6	8	10
BOB from classes	3	4	5
BOS from classes	3	4	5
Winners Dog	3	4	5
Winners Bitch	3	4	5

4. POINTS FOR TITLES ACHIEVED

In addition to show points, a dog or bitch contributes R.O.M.C. points to both his/her sire and dam 
by achieving the following C.K.C. titles:

Companion Dog Excellant	10	Utility Dog	15	Herding started	5
Tracking Dog	5	Tracking Dog Excellant	10	Herding Intermediate	10

5. R.O.M.C. PROGENY

Progeny that achieve an R.O.M.C. title themselves contribute 10 points to their sire and dam.

6. FUTURITY/MATURITY

A dog or bitch contributes R.O.M.C. points to both his/her sire and dam by winning the following awards 
at G.S.D.C.C. Inc. Futurity/Maturity shows:

Best In Regional Futurity	3	Best Opposite in Regional Futurity	3
Best In Regional Maturity	4	Best Opposite In Regional Maturity	4
Best In National Futurity	5	Best Opposite In National Futurity	5
Best In National Maturity	5	Best Opposite In National Maturity	5

7. CONDITIONS

(a) Not more than 40% of the points contributed by progeny toward the R.O.M.C. award of a sire or 
 dam may be achieved through Schutzhund or Obedience (40 pts. for sires, 28 pts. for dams).
(b) The G.S.D.C.C. Inc. will maintain a list of active R.O.M.C. sires and dams. Any sire or dam 
whose point total remains inactive for 3 years will be removed from the list. An inactive sire or dam 
whose progeny begin, again, to contribute R.O.M.C. points will be reinstated on the active list.
(c) No single progeny shall earn more than 100 points for its' sire or dam.
